Emily Ann Klotz has been practicing in the fields of Elder Law and Guardianships for over two decades.  After spending 13 years as a personal injury litigator, she shifted her practice to advocate on behalf of the elderly, the disabled, their families and caregivers.

​

Emily has been appointed by the New York State Supreme Court and Surrogate's Court to act as Court Evaluator, Guardian-ad-Litem, Trustee of Supplemental Needs Trusts,Guardian, Co-Guardian and/or Successor Guardian.  On multiple occasions Emily has been appointed by various courts to represent a person who is the subject of a guardianship proceeding to represent that person in the Guardianship proceeding.

Emily graduated from the University of Rochester.  After attending graduate school at Cornell University and Rutgers University, she graduated from New York Law School.

Emily is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey.

Emily regularly speaks at various senior centers, caretaker support groups, non-profit organizations and organizations of retired individuals and New York State Bar Association sponsored events throughout the metropolitan New York City area.  Lecture topics include Wills, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Proxies, Living Wills, Trust and Medicaid Planning.
